JadaTalks Presents: The Courage to Create in a World of Mediocrity
Miami Art Week Presents:
The Courage to Create in a World of Mediocrity presented by JadaTalks
With so much of the art world being reduced to commercial viability and branding it takes courage to create artwork with depth and meaning- especially for the artist looking to live off of their artwork. Unfortunately, we live in a world of logos and many people would prefer to buy the easily identifiable art world equivalent of Louis Vuitton handbag over conceptually driven artwork. Contemporary artists must choose what direction they take their practice in while also taking into consideration how they will pay their bills.
Tune in December 5 at 8 pm EST to hear from our guest speaker Broward College Associate Dean Dr. Cornejo , during this online live streaming art conversation.
An Associate Dean with Broward College’s Department of Arts, Communication, Humanities & Design – has over 30 years of educational experience and possesses degrees in Psychology, Counseling, and History. His area of expertise lies in the History of Latin America and in the Social History of Medicine with special emphasis on the 20th century plague pandemic and, most recently, medical mistrust among immigrant and African American communities. He has been honored by the President of the Brough of Queens(New York), granted several Travel Awards, and – through the SunTrust Foundation – been the recipient of an Endowed Teaching Award.
Join us on December 3-6, 2020 during Miami Art Week at Jada Art Fair. Jada Art Fair was founded by local Miami artists in 2019 as an art movement that has since branched out to various countries, having had its own gallery at Jada Paris Art Week just last month in France. Jada Miami Art Fair 2020 will feature over 120 pieces, including paintings, multimedia installations, murals, and sculptures in its 4-day fair (Dec. 3rd – 6th). As a continuous commitment to education, Jada Miami Art Fair will also host JadaTalks — a conference panel of local and national scholars, business leaders, trend setters, and noteworthy artists, both in presence and virtually JadaTV.com. Jada Miami Art Fair is situated in Normandy Isle (Miami Beach), with 5000sf of exhibiting space, divided into 4 main galleries, featuring original works and special collector-edition art prints.
